Remembering Nestor Garay

Nestor Garay was born on January 13, 1931 in Santa Rosa, Argentina and appeared in over 35 film and TV appearances. Like many Argentine actors of the period he moved to Rome to pursue a film career. The burly, broad faced jovial character actor sometimes appeared as Nestor Garai. His first documented appearance was in the 1965 Italian TV series “I grandi camaleonti” and he was continued to appear in film and TV roles until his final appearance in 2001's “The Comeback”. Garay often portrayed clergymen and men of power. Probably his best role was as the Sultan Abdulah Garay in 1977's “La tigre รจ ancora viva: Sandokan alla riscossa!” During this time he appeared in only one Euro-western, 1968's “Execution” as the Mexican Juarez. Nestor died in Rome on April 11, 2003. Today we remember Nestor Garay on what would have been his 80th birthday.
