Carlo Rizzo was born in Trieste, Italy on April 30, 1907.
As a young man he devoted himself to the theater, proving himself he soon had
leading performances, in which he performed exceptionally alongside Erminio
Macario, by which led to his film debuted in “Imputato, alzatevi!” by Mario
Mattioli (1939). Later he worked in other famous stage companies along with
such successful actors as Charles Dapporto and Wanda Osiris and appeared in
numerous films, mostly light-comedies. In 1960, with his brother Alfredo
[1902-1991], he formed his own theater company, which unfortunately did not
last long. He was married to the ballet dancer Rosita Pinkel. Carlo appeared in
two Euro-westerns: “The Kid of the West” (1942) and “Duel at the Rio Grande”
(1963). Rizzo died in Milan, Italy on July 26, 1979. Today we remember Carlo
Rizzo on what would have been his 105th birthday.
