Antje Weisgerber was born on May 17, 1922 in Königsberg, East Prussia. Antje’s first movie was "Zwei Welten" (1940), directed by Gustaf Gründgens. Gründgens subsequently brought her to the Staatstheater in Berlin. In 1944 she married the actor Horst Casper [1913-1952], who died in 1952. She followed Gründgens to the Theatre in Düsseldorf and later to the Deutschen Schauspielhaus in Hamburg. One of her most memorable parts was that of Gretchen in Gründgens' famous version of Goethe's "Faust". From 1952 until 1960 she performed at the Salzburger Festspiele. In 1990 she enjoyed her last success on the stage as Amanda in "Die Glasmenagerie" by Tennessee Williams. Weisgerber also made 44 film and TV appearances including her only Euro-western “Rampage at Apache Wells” (1965) as Frau Ebersbach. To the younger audience she became well known for her part in the German television series "Der Landarzt".  Antje also became a voice actress dubbing such actresses as Jean Simmons, Ava Gardner and Olivia de Havilland. Antje died from a brain tumor on September 29, 2004 in Dortmund, Germany. Today we remember Antje Weisberg on what would have been her 90th birthday.
