Remembering Dan Sturkie

Daniel Belton Sturkie, Jr. was born on January 5, 1924 somewhere in Lexington, South Carolina. Little information about Dan can be found. He made some U.S.A. television appearances during the mid-1950s and then apparently moved to Rome and had an uncredited role in “Barabbas” (1961). His primary line of work in Italy was as a dubbing actor who appeared in several films in some small supporting parts. Dan appeared in five Euro-westerns all with Terence Hill. He first appeared in “Boot Hill” (1969) as a miner, but was best remembered for his appearance as Tobias in “They Call Me Trinity” (1970) his last Euro-western was in 1972’s “Man of the East” where he’s briefly seen as a dice player.

Dan returned to the United States where he died in Los Angeles, California on May 10, 1992.

Today we remember Dan Sturkie on what would have been his 90th birthday.
