Happy 55th Birthday Ludger Pistor

Ludger Pistor was born on March 16, 1959 in Herten, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Pistor studied at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna and after that two years at the Herbert Berghof Studio in New York City. He then made his first acting engagement at the theater in Munich. In the 1980s, he made his first television appearances, including the assistant Schimanski in ‘Tatort’.

For his role as Klaus Krapp in the television series ‘Balko’, Pistor received the 1996 Adolf Grimme Prize and in 1999 the German Television Award. A running gag of his role here were frequent dialogues with his mother, who was never seen. This running gag was put forward in some of his later film roles, such as in ‘Goldene Zeiten’.

Ludger appeared as Know-It-All in his only Euro-western, “Texas Doc Snyder” (1993) with Helge Schneider.

In the James Bond film “Casino Royale” (2006) Pistor is seen as the Swiss banker Mr. Mendel.

In 2011, Pistor took over a minor supporting role in the Hollywood movie “X - Men: First Class”.

Today we celebrate Ludger Pistor’s 55th birthday.
